Setting up a lunch club

Setting up a lunch club

We can deliver freshly prepared hot meals to the venue of your choice and currently deliver to village, community and church halls as well as sheltered housing schemes. You just need to set up a lunch club.

What will you need to do?

You’ll need to provide the venue, with furniture, cutlery and crockery, and take responsibility for the health and safety and insurance of the venue. Someone will need to volunteer as the contact to promote the lunch club, and register with the Environmental Health Officer.

You should also ensure that staff and volunteers have their Basic Food Hygiene and are wearing suitable protective clothing. They will need to serve the meals, lay and clear tables and wash up. We will collect our equipment within 24 hours of lunch being served.

We’ll need three weeks’ notice of your order, which should have a minimum of 10 meals. We will also need you to complete registration forms, attendance registers and temperature probing charts for us.

What will we do?

Local Food Links will deliver freshly prepared hot meals to a lunch club at your venue on weekdays. It costs around £4.50 per person for a two-course meal.

To get you started, we can provide training and mentoring for staff and volunteers setting up a lunch club (as well as support funding applications), and help you develop two-course menus that meet dietary requirements.

We can organise a one-off lunch or event to try it – just get in touch to begin your lunch club.
