Local Food Links hopes for second helping of awards success

School meals provider and social enterprise, Local Food Links (LFL), is delighted to be one of 5 national caterers shortlisted for the Cost Sector Catering Education Award.  This prestigious annual event celebrates the amazing people and companies that work in foodservice and recognises excellence in the field.  Winners will be announced at the Cost Sector Catering Awards event which is held in London on Thursday 25th April.

Caroline Morgan, Chief Executive, said that she was,

“absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted.”

She continued,

“Our staff are our secret ingredient and I would like to thank every one of them for their contribution.  They are passionate about feeding children well so they can thrive in school and develop a lifelong love of meals cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients.”

Earlier in the year Local Food Links won the Federation of Small Businesses’ Scale Up Award for the South West region in recognition of Local Food Links’ hard work and success with its Weymouth expansion, which enabled the company to supply meals to 15 additional schools.  Local Food Links predicts that it will serve 1,534,000 meals in the 2018-19 academic year, an increase of 500,000 meals on the previous academic year.
