Are you busy making plans for the Easter Holidays? Here’s a great rainy/day at home activity for the children to get involved in. To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Local Food Links are running a competition for 1 child from each of the following age ranges (5 – 7 years old, 8 -10 years old and 11 – 13 years old) to each win a £30 Waterstones eGift Card.
To be in with a chance of winning, we are asking children to write a short story which is approximately 250 words long and must contain the theme of ‘The Queen and Food’. Entries will be judged by local author Sarah Thompson. Sarah is a Sunday Times bestselling writer and the author of Happy Single Mother.
What to do:
• Write or type a short story around 250 words long and remember to include the themes of Food and The Queen within your story.
• Send your creative writing via email to natasha.elliott@localfoodlinks.org.uk. We will accept the following file types: PDF or JPEG or by post to Natasha Elliott Unit 17 St Michael’s Trading Estate, Bridport, DT6 3RR by Monday 16th May, please remember to include guardian contact details.
• It is important to include your child’s name, school, year and age on the entry.
Have fun with your stories and good luck.
Please note: Children of LFL employees are not eligible to enter. Children are only eligible to enter the competition if they attend one of the 54 schools we supply meals to
